Evie is 9 months old--that is 3/4 of a year old! I will admit this is definitely the "BUSY" phase. Evie has a toy that sings a song that pretty much sums it up--"Busy, busy, busy, busy, there's so much to do!" You take your eye off her for a moment and she is emptying out a cupboard, chewing on a wire cable, or finding new things mom and dad "forgot" to baby-proof! She is definitely busy! I have realized even more what a little social girl she is as she tries to "talk" to any big kids she sees while we run errands and definitely is not afraid of trying to play with them even though they are twice her size! She is great at independent play but also crawls as fast as she can to sit in my lap when I am near by. My love grows for this little girl every day! Here are some other fun things she is doing:
- Waves "bye-bye", claps, even lifts her hands up high when excited (her "praisin' Jesus" hands)
- Cruises everywhere and is starting to stand by herself without holding on
- Loves to walk with her walker, although we are still working on "steering"
- Loves her "big girl" food and we have almost completely stopped baby food
- Finally caught on to her sippy cup which she gets pretty excited for when she sees it!
- Loves to get into any cabinet or drawer she can reach and find "treasures"
- Loves to play "peekaboo" (or "where's Evie?")
- Loves to feed herself her milk--even prefers to be left alone during this time (I guess this is part of her "independence")
- Is getting much better at "listening" and lifting flaps in her books than just eating them
- Saying "mama" and "dada" and "nana" (whoever that is..)
- Starting to dance a little to music--which she loves

Eating like a big girl
Evie finding something for dinner
Evie had her first "sleepover" with her cousin Landry
Well, okay, we still EAT our books...
Apparently Evie thought she would make a great "DISH" for dinner!
